ABS (anti-lock braking system) is a system which most cars are equipped with nowadays. It is to prevent the blocking of wheels during emergency, abrupt braking. Please find below a set of rules for the most effective usage of the system’s possibilities.

  1. The brake should be pushed to the floor and kept like this until the car stops.
  2. If this is only possible, uneven terrain should be avoided – at road bumps, the system inhibits braking power much more extensively than required. It is also best to avoid holes when starting to brake.
  3. It should be borne in mind that when operating, the system makes a characteristic noise, a clatter of sort. There are no reasons to worry that this indicates the car’s break-down.
